Sauti Salama is a survivor-led Kenyan feminist organisation based in Nairobi. We provide free, confidential gender-based violence support across Kenya — trauma-informed counselling, safe shelter referrals, legal aid and anonymous reporting — bridging the gaps in access to care, safety and justice for women and girls.
Our work emerges from community organising and survivor support, shaped by those with lived experience of navigating harm alone.
Led by women and survivors who understand the journey.
Care is central to justice and community resilience.
Safety requires consent built into institutions and tools.
Research briefs, legal guides and training modules on gender-based violence in Kenya — written by survivors, free for anyone to use.
Drawing on a survey of 219 young women, six key informant interviews and two focus group discussions in Nairobi and Kitui, this policy brief examines online violence, barriers to reporting and the changes young women want from platforms and public institutions.
An interactive module on responding to a survivor's disclosure — what helps, what harms, and why.
